Monique Lhuillier (pronounced loo-lee-aye) was born to French, Spanish/Filipino parents and was raised in the Philippines.
Monique Lhuillier and Tom Bugbee, a young, dynamic husband and wife team, founded the company in 1996 by launching their first bridal collection. The bridal line was extremely well received by fashion-savvy brides, editors and celebrities. In 2002, the ready to wear and eveningwear collections were launched.
Today, Monique is considered one of the leading innovative fashion houses; her collections are always luxurious, feminine, modern, chic and true to her aesthetic.
Monique Lhuillier is currently available in 140 stores throughout the world, including prestigious retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. The Monique Lhuillier flagship salons, located in Beverly Hills and Minneapolis, house the entire collections.
In Australia, Monique Lhuillier bridal gowns are represented exclusively by Helen Rodrigues in neutral Bay, Sydney.
Monique’s gowns have been created for celebrity brides such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Natalie Imbruglia, Pink and Alicia Silverstone whilst her ready to wear collection regularly graces the social and celebrity pages the world over.
Celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Sharon Stone, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria have worn Monique Lhuillier designs. During 2006, Monique Lhuillier opened its New York showroom and the limited edition Monique Lhuillier Bride Barbie was unveiled.
