Cuisines from all over the world have created the \u2018Australian Cuisine\u2019 as we know it today.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal;\">Australian food has expanded beyond delicious sweet treats (such as lamingtons) and savoury favourites (such as meat pies) to a wider range of globally influenced flavour profiles. The delicious mix of Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours form the new-age Australian cuisine.\u00a0<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal;\"><br \/>While curries, falafels, burritos and stir-fry noodles have become household regulars in homes around Australia, at Royal Doulton we were keen to find out which Aussie food icons still rule the hearts of people around the country. <br \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal; font-size: medium;\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: large;\">We conducted a survey asking 1000 Australians, \u2018What is your favourite Australian Dish?\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The results were sweet, cheesy and absolutely scrumptious.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;0|0px|0|0px|false|false&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.royaldoulton.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Royal_Doulton_Signature_1815_2020_Lifestyle_20-3.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Royal_Doulton_Signature_1815_2020_Lifestyle_20&#8243; url=&#8221;https:\/\/www.royaldoulton.com.au\/collections&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.1&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_testimonial _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.1&#8243; use_background_color=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><b>27% of the respondents chose Chicken Parmigiana as their favourite Australian dish<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_testimonial][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;27px|0px|28px|0px|false|false&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just like the beloved flat white, Chicken Parmigiana served with a side of chips and salad is a true Aussie food icon. The Italian inspired dish has come a long way from its eggplant days to becoming Australia\u2019s favourite dish. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The savoury pub-favourite was followed by a long list of delicious sweets and desserts. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><b>51% of Australians opted for a sweet treat as their favourite dish\u00a0 <\/b><b><br \/><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Out of which, 19% opted for the oatmeal-based Anzac Biscuits, 18% chose the meringue-based pavlova, and 15% went with the coconutty goodness of lamingtons. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The long list of sugary treats was followed by modern meat and veggie favourites. Out of the 1000 respondents, 12% voted for the BBQ special, Australian snags, 6% opted for the snackable Chiko Roll, and 5% chose the cheesy spinach cob.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: large;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Over the years, multiculturalism has impacted how and what Australians eat.
